Visas
The type of visa you will need to travel to Russia depends on the purpose of your visit, personal, business or simply as a tourist.
Visa processing starts only after you have presented all the necessary documents. To apply for a visa you need to present an application, photographs, an invitation from a host company or individual, your original passport, travel tickets and health insurance.
Please note that not every insurance company or policy is accepted. Check your local or nearest Russian Consulate or travel agency. For obtaining an invitation or making private hotel bookings please check our recommended travel services.
The Russian Consulates in different countries have different processing periods. Normally it takes about 2 weeks. You can ask to speed up the process. Consulates have different tariffs for different processing periods.
The visa will be issued exactly as indicated in your invitation. You can travel to Russia within the visa period. For a tourist visa this period cannot be more than 30 days.
Do not forget that consulates may be closed during Russian national holidays and during holidays periods in your country.
